Outdoor Education and Science Camps - Summer 2025
The great outdoors will be our classroom where students will have the opportunity to explore, experience and learn about nature. Below are partial descriptions of the camps currently being offered and some of the specific activities relevant to each camp. In the event of inclement weather some activities may be modified.

Step into the wizarding world of Harry Potter. This magical week starts with a house sorting ceremony, then a bit of wandlore where students make their own wands. What will the core of your wand be? Unicorn Hair, Phoenix Feather, Dragon Heart String or perhaps hairs from a Veela? Throughout the week students will attend classes specific to Hogwarts and special events that are generally science based. For example, in Potions, students will learn some basic chemistry, as well as create their own edible potion. Other classes include Care of Magical Creatures, Ancient Runes, and Charms to name a few. Special events may include a search for the Sorcerer's Stone, competing in the Tri-Wizard Tournament, and a Horcrux Hunt.
*Please note students will spend less time in the outdoors during this camp and it does not include the outdoor education component of the regular camps.

Bugs Don't Bug Me! (please check back )
Time: Cost: $
Limit: 6 students For students entering 2nd- 4th grade
What exactly is a "bug"? And what good are they anyway? Come explore the world of insects and arachnids to find the answer to these and many other questions. Find out how amazing and truly valuable they are. Go on a “bug” safari to collect and study them up close in a variety of habitats. Participate in fun activities to understand how they use their senses and communicate, and conduct an experiment or two with live “bugs” to learn about their behavior.

Young Paleontologists (please check back)
Time: Cost:
Limit: 6 students For students entering 2nd - 4th grade
Dinosaur and fossil-loving kids will love this camp as they "dig" into paleontology. Come experience the life of a paleontologist as you learn about dinosaurs and other prehistoric life, how they are classified and when they lived. Learn about the different kinds of fossils, how they were made, and collect fossils in the field! There will be more hands-on fun as you make replicas of 3 types of fossils, study footprints and find out all they can tell us, and participate in a mock dig! Make your own volcano and find out why some scientists think they may have played a part in the extinction of dinosaurs.
